Critics Consensus

Dan Stevens and a game supporting cast deliver well-rounded performances with nuance and verve in this latest installment of The Terror, which humanely depicts its subject's troubles with mental health and supernatural frights.

In projects like this, there can be a fine line between committed performance and psych hospital schtick. The cast of “Devil in Silver” walks that line without tripping over it. Go to Full Review

The first two installments got under your skin; the third may leave a few scars, but it never goes any further beneath the surface. Go to Full Review

Over six smart, gnarly episodes, the well-captured characters and their supernatural plights prove almost as gripping -- and frightening -- as the reality they’re laying bare. Go to Full Review

It’s a noticeable departure from prior seasons, turning the page to a type of institutional horror unlike anything depicted before and propped upon a cast in complete command of the screenplay. Go to Full Review

The Terror: Devil in Silver would still be a fairly compelling horror story even if the supernatural never entered into the picture — and that may well be the most frightening thing of all. Go to Full Review

michael C. @MichaelC2 11h The first Two episodes are very intriguing. Cannot wait to see the other episodes. See more Russell A @Rallen117 14h It’s not horrible but I hate the characters too much to enjoy it. The two black workers are evil and and do the most messed up stuff to pepper and then the show acts like they’re just normal people too. They’ve nursed will be completely evil and lock him up and gag pepper for no reason and then act like he cares about them in the next scene. I hate those two more than anything and pepper doesn’t even ever say anything back to them. If they don’t die in the show I’ll come back and rate it zero stars. See more Solomon K @Solidan 5d , The Devil in Silver about a haunted mental institution supposedly in NYC. Whoever made the show is entirely unfamiliar with the realities of NYC. At one point a cop tells a guy who assaulted them that he's nuts if he thinks he'll get out on bail after assaulting a cop. In actuality people who assault cops are released in a matter of hours. Also, the mental hospital is much too clean This show looks more like it's taking place in upscale Boston. Definitely not NYC. Besides not looking or feeling like NYC I’ll keep watching because it might be fun. See more Hisense 6. @Ssssss 5d The first episode is quite interesting. Dan stevens made it more thrilling with his acting. Looking forward to how this goes on. See more Read all reviews
