Gregory Y. @gregorycmd Apr 26 The film masterfully weaves the story of the Shaka within Hawaiian culture. It is deeply moving to see the profound power that the Shaka and the spirit of Aloha can have on the world. Truly a great film!" See more Vanessa H @Vanessa408 Mar 5 It was a skillfully crafted documentary that beautifully incorporated history, storytelling and research in a way that was engaging, entertaining and sparked curiosity. I would highly recommend! See more Sheryl F @sherylf Mar 3 A well-crafted and engaging film that offers real insight into the origins of the shaka gesture in Hawaiʻi. It blends history and humor in a way that feel fresh and making it enjoyable to both younger and older audiences. The story telling is captivating and warm with great narratives by the kupuna (older generation who shares their childhood experiences) so by the end of the movie you not only appreciate the cultural meaning of the shaka, but you also learn how "not" to do it. See more Maureen O @MaureenO Mar 2 I grew up Hawaiʻi and everyone did "shaka" - it was just normal. But I never thought of how it came to be. This film was done so well - stories woven into periods of history. And while it meant a lot to me to hear of and see people that were part of my childhood, I believe anyone that is at all familiar with "shaka" will find it interesting, educational, and so entertaining. By the time it ends, you can’t help but walk away feeling good! See more Kaui K @RonElle73 Mar 2 The film was so well done! Anyone that has ever thrown a shaka should watch it! I learned so much and by the end you'll be inspired by Tūtū Hamana, filled with the spirit of aloha, and ready to shoot a shaka 🤙🏽. It also brought back wonderful memories for my mom! Must see it! See more k y @kareny Feb 5 Loved learning the origins of Shaka and how it unites people! Hoping this film helps Shaka extend beyond the Island! See more Read all reviews
