Director Rose Bosch's intentions seem genuine, but her dramatizations frequently undermine the horrific real-life events on which they're based. Go to Full Review

It's a mainstream, sentimental drama because it needs to be. It announces in a clear voice that this happened. Go to Full Review

A well-meaning but inexpertly dramatized account of the roundup of 13,000 Parisian Jews in the summer of 1942. Go to Full Review

“The Round Up” is a pretty polished film, but its also reverent, sober, and responsible. Go to Full Review

A viewer who knew nothing of the true events of World War II would think there was a guardian angel that looked out for sweet young children. If you find that proposition more than a little infuriating, then you'd be wise to skip this film. Go to Full Review

Alain E @AlainE 2d Another mediocre film about the Holocaust. The best part was the opening newsreel showing Germans, including the Fuhrer visiting Paris. Then we have bigoted French alternating with altruistic Frenchmen. Take your pick. See more Numa B @RT15989132 08/30/2024 I read some people saying: it undermines the true horror. Let me tell you this: this movie is POV children. Meaning, it’s POV innocence. If you want to see some true horror, watch other movies. The true power of “La Rafle” is the fact that this is depicted through the eyes of children, children strong enough to take their lives and destiny’s into their own hands. AMAZING movie, GREAT cast. See more hamid reza g @RT65196532 05/01/2023 The film's emphasis at the very beginning on the reality of all the events of the film is both its strength and its weakness. The film is based on the memories of a man who escapes from the camp as a child and survives. The subject of the film is not a new subject, but the film's look at this historical fact is the strength of the film. The film deals with children at that time. And in this sense, it is original. But the weak point of the film is that the director treats this issue emotionally and the film cannot meet the expectations due to its cinematic structure. In fact, the emotionalism of the film limits the cinematic structure, and this has made the melodrama format the best option for the film. See more 05/09/2021 Holocaust victims and survivors are clearly defined in this movie of what happened to some humans that were called vermin/parasites by the ruling class in France while Hitler was giving orders from Germany with his followers who also benefited by the deaths of Jews. I let my grandkids watch this movie to see what happens to humans that are vilified for the profit and power of others who are in power. Be careful you could be next See more 12/11/2020 Affecting pulling at heartstrings even with the expected known outcomes; good performances across the board with difficult material See more 01/14/2020 So I found the content in this movie extremely difficult to watch. So many child actors and all so well done! So much emoting in this film and every character, every actor takes us to the heart of humanity. Really well done. Informs us about history and the role france played in saving 10,000 jewish people from "cremation". well made, well written, and really well delivered. See more Read all reviews
