Krishnavatar is the first cinematic telling of Lord Krishna's journey of love. The story spans his enchanting youth in Gokul and Vrindavan, his eternal bond with Radha, the weight of his duty in Mathura, and his majestic reign in Dwarka; along with the many facets of his life. Krishna appears in all his dimensions: playful lover, wise philosopher, compassionate protector, and cosmic force, even as political turmoil and a fateful curse cast a long shadow over his lineage. A sweeping celebration of Krishna's universal appeal, Krishnavatar is entertaining while being deeply spiritual--intertwining mythology, romance, philosophy, and larger-than-life visual storytelling, with music that enthralls. It takes you on a divine journey of love, duty, and sacrifice. And while you may think you know Krishna, He is so vast that every time you return to Him, He reveals a new truth.

In finding a balance between the mortal and the myth that form Lord Krishna, Hardik Gajjar’s mostly gorgeous retelling (lose the A.I., please) poses questions that the narrative baulks at answering. Go to Full Review

Directed with conviction and reverence by Hardik Gajjar, the film does not merely attempt to retell the story of Lord Krishna; it seeks to understand him. That distinction gives the film its warmth, grace and spiritual depth. Go to Full Review

The storytelling feels immersive, with soft yet soul-stirring music that beautifully carries the emotions through every scene. The series leaves you longing for the next two parts, which itself speaks volumes about the impact it creates on the audience. Siddharth Gupta, portraying Lord Krishna, is simply phenomenal. His expressions, calm aura, charm, and emotional depth make the character feel alive and divine. It is hard to imagine anyone else doing justice to the role in a better way. A visually poetic and emotionally enriching experience that stays with you long after the screen fades to black.
