Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market. Hoping to follow in her parent’s footsteps and find a match sparked by true love, Daphne’s prospects initially seem to be unrivaled. But as her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors, the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts aspersions on Daphne. Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), committed bachelor and the catch of the season for the debutantes’ mamas. Despite proclaiming that they want nothing the other has to offer, their attraction is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits while navigating society’s expectations for their future.

Taking a page out of a fairytale, Bridgerton season four excels at selling a fantasy that, no matter how predictable, is as sweet, steamy, and engrossing as ever.

However, what works early on is the theme of relationships being tested... Best of all, the yearning romance fans crave is here, too. Go to Full Review

It’s another story of unrequited love made possible by poor communication, the avoidance of social scandal and undeniable chemistry, which is exactly what you want from a season of this steamy series. Go to Full Review

Thanks to the fire of actress Yerin Ha, this fourth chapter in this saggy saga of love among the haves and have nots can still thrill us with the pleasures of the unexpected. Go to Full Review

Bridgerton is brilliant with them [Thompson and Ha] in the center, but they need to cut off the storylines that are not working. In the meantime, the season that exists is not good enough for us to give anything but a tepid thumbs up. Go to Full Review

This spectacular affair was so stunningly choreographed, and so magnificently ambitious, that even if you've never seen Bridgerton before, it's worth watching this opening episode just to marvel at the spectacle. Go to Full Review

There are times when you feel you’re watching provincial panto, even if Thompson and Ha have great, spiky chemistry. Go to Full Review

Joyce P @JoyJoy182 29m It’s missing the glitter and sparkle the other seasons had. Which is intentional, I suppose, but it doesn’t hold my interest. People watch bridgerton for the fancy dresses and fancy balls and there is very little of that. See more Paul V @PaulieV353 32m It’s not a good sign when the main couple’s storyline is the least interesting of the season, and I fear it will only be worse with the upcoming events in part 2 See more Hanh N @HannahNg 8h This season took me by surprise. I could not finish season 3 after 1-2 episodes ish due to the heavy makeup and plot lines. But surprisingly this season keeps me hooked right from episode 1. I have to admit during my first watch, I had to fast-forward over non Sophie/Benedict parts because other storylines are just not as interesting. I especially disliked Eloise’s character this season and she used to be my favorite. I hope they make her character more likable in the next part. This season brought Bridgeton back to one of my favorite shows. But I hope they stop splitting seasons. Like it’s a love story show, why splitting it after keeping audiences waited for 2 years for a new season, just to split in half with merely 4 shott episodes each part? Will update my review after part 2! See more Nadia A @nadiaamad 14h The season has lost a lot of cohesion between the main story and the subplots. Whether it's one thing or another, fans are saying the same thing: we need a common thread that ties the stories together so it doesn't feel like watching a series of short stories side by side. Since season 3, it has felt like a fragmented story, and although this season we have more screen time with the main characters, we also see how everything else is disconnected. There is a lack of family scenes, a lack of a smooth transition between the previous couple and the next one, a lack of listening to the fans for once and stopping forcing the Mondrich storyline when it simply does not fit. They haven't made sense for three seasons, and trying to make them make sense now just feels forced. Benophie's screen time is extensive, but sometimes boring too, and that's not the actors' fault; it's collateral damage from a weak script that failed to find overall cohesion for the whole story. See more Paul H @Paulhudsonssa 16h Loved it, visually stunning, sexy as ever, some great twists hidden in lovely comfortable fairy tales we know and love. Prince charming spending all that time to find Cinderella and then saying please be my mistress - fab! See more Alexandra D @Lexx777 21h Season 4 has been the most intriguing and exciting season. Love that the love interest stayed between a man and a woman & that we can still experience an honest, and in a way innocent love. We do not have to skip over multiple scenes if family members are around. See more Read all reviews
