In this queer BDSM romdomcom with a core of sweetness, Alexander Sarsgård and Harry Melling bring passion and compassion to a taboo subject rare in mainstream cinema. It’s about time. Go to Full Review

You want screen representation of a highly specific queer lifestyle? You’ll get it. But Pillion never forgets there’s a deeper story happening underneath all the sex. Go to Full Review

It could have been simply shocking, revving its engine in sexed-up style. Instead, as a vehicle for a pair of wonderful performances, “Pillion” purrs. Go to Full Review

Cinema history has not always been friendly to alternative lifestyles. However, with recent successes in theaters for films looking into the depths of dominance and submission, a film like Pillion feels like a natural evolution of the genre. Go to Full Review

A beautiful love story (that just so happens to be leather clad and lusty). Skarsgård and Melling play their roles to perfection and at the end of the day it's about discovering what we deserve in our relationships. Go to Full Review

Daniel A 23h The film is empty. The strength gained is very hard to see, and I’m a gay man in the leather community. See more Tony 1d Gay, a little s and m, with some emotional aspects. See more Bruce W @Maverick1926 4h This wasn’t on the agenda for me to see but having seen Alexander Skarsgård on the Graham Norton Show I decided to give it a go. It’s one of those movies that won’t get a huge cinema audience. The combination of the price of cinema tickets, other releases and the subject matter means that the 10 other people plus myself on a late Saturday afternoon is probably going to be typical. That said, it was an enjoyable film, with humour and good performances and yes as the BBFC warned at the start some very strong sex scenes. This movie was made with the help of the BBC so may well end up on their channel at some point although given how strong the sex scenes were it may get a better home on Channel 4.  See more Tyler B. @tytytylerjohn 7h A slow burn and unconventional love story between two men. Funnier than I was expecting too! Of course the “adult” scenes wont be for everyone but that’s the point. The music is great and so is the acting from both Harry and Alexander. As thought-provoking as it is, there was a layer of the onion that I simply couldn’t peel. The ending was sad. Much like a lot of LGBT love! See more Erik K. @Mcadae 17h Overall terrible, bad writing, bad acting that's all I'm allowed to say. See more Carter S. @Dreamxhustle 20h Hot, as expected. Funnier than anticipated, while moving and surprising in its care for its main characters and their journeys. Take a peak into a subculture and delight in the way family and chosen family support each other. See more Read all reviews
