Par H @Parhwy 1d 1962 British film, colour, set in Bristol with a focus on young adults in two different subcultures. I enjoyed the film more for the scenery and lifestyle in which the story is set more than the story itself: loungerooms, kitchens, the cafes, the hangouts, factories, roller skating rink, dance hall, streets, shops… The plot is flimsy albeit plausible. The Commitments, it reminded me of that (The Commitments is a far superior film). The main character is given a choice between being a Rocker or a Good Boy or Dad’s Clone. There is a love story, criss cross overs, jealousy, and a smattering of sexism and SA ("boys will be boys!"). See more Read all reviews
