Despite us tagging along the trail for days, we feel closer to the landscape than to the characters. Go to Full Review

Meticulously paced, methodical in the way it delivers its information, this film isn't so much scary as it is deeply disconcerting, everything moving towards a somewhat inevitable conclusion that had me nonetheless squirming. Go to Full Review

"Yellowbrickroad" is without personality. It's competently made, but the cast and direction are just bland. Go to Full Review

Sadly, even the inventive and ambitious premise wasn't enough to make up for the poor performances and script. Go to Full Review

What hurts the picture is its insistence on dragging The Wizard of Oz into its thematic DNA. Go to Full Review

A well-shot, multi-dimensional, and unexpectedly cerebral little horror story. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 5d YellowBrickRoad is a psychological horror film with a strong concept that unfortunately never develops into something truly engaging or satisfying. The story follows a group of people trekking through a remote forest while a strange, mysterious music begins affecting their minds, causing confusion, pain, and paranoia as they struggle to find a way out. On paper, the idea has real potential for unsettling horror, especially with its clear reference to The Wizard of Oz and the "yellow brick road" concept. However, the execution falls flat. Instead of building tension or delivering meaningful scares, the film gets bogged down in slow pacing and long stretches of repetitive dialogue that drain momentum. The mystery never fully pays off, and the story feels increasingly aimless as it goes on. The characters also fail to leave a strong impression, making it difficult to stay emotionally invested in their journey or fate. While there are moments of eerie atmosphere, they are too sparse See more R. B @R1313R Oct 11 Yellowbrickroad is a psychological horror movie that was interesting im some ways, but I found it to be on the boring side. It had characters I didn't find to be engaging, and some that I thought were downright obnoxious. I don't think that, in that situation I would react the way that they did. I'm not sure that anyone would, to be honest. There was one part I liked, but the rest of the movie was eh. I got so bored after a while I started playing a game on my phone. Maybe psychological horror just isn't my genre. 4/10. See more Caleb L @RT83793999 Oct 5 A film that is definitely more intriguing than it is actually good. It has some really cool ideas and genuinely disturbing scenes, but a lack of budget or a lack of talented actors along with a slog of a runtime really brings this one down. See more Jeffrey P @vanillavoodoo1 Jun 19 Despite it looking like a grassroots film with no budget and no actors who know how to tweek, a precursory event that could have been fleshed out more, a lack of a purpose to the current story, and camera angles that weren’t wild enough for what it was rying to convey... possibly... maybe... if the two came together nicely in the end... but they didn’t. At least it was coherent. See more k m @RT43640561 03/23/2025 Stumbled across this film and was pleasantly surprised. It's a slow burn up to the 40 minute mark, when it suddenly gets a very violent scene but then settles back into more of a mystery horror. I stayed with it because I love anything lovecraftian and this is definitely in that genre. I was a bit disappointed with the ending but I've only just finished watching it and maybe it's like a David Lynch film and I'll see more clues after a second watch. However I think it's left up to viewer to interpret their own narrative. See more nek n @RT58221770 03/20/2025 The mystery element and the implication of some kind of folk horror at the beginning was far more tantalizing than the gradual savage madness that followed.
