Not only do I think it's a pretty prophetic cult film, but it's also fast-paced and highly entertaining narrating its dystopia about the anarchist vigilante wearing the Guy Fawkes mask to fight a totalitarian regime. [Full review in Spanish]

[Alan] Moore wrote the novel as a commentary on Thatcher's England and the film retains the London setting, but it only takes a few key phrases to echo the post-9/11 era and the rhetoric of the current American administration.

Amazing almost perfect movie. V is such a layered and complex character. His goal is understandable and we cheer him on. The story is rich and deep and it flows without ever feeling slow.

As an Egyptian American this movie always hits home, both of my countries governments are corrupt serving and chosen by the rich and the corporations to accumulate more wealth than to know what to do with it, fuck the government

Unbelievably poignant given the state of the world today. And unfathomable that we are living both in this timeline and the fanciful world the film laid bare in 2006. Let’s Hope we do find a little V in all of us to make it though these dark times. Watch this film today…

A warning that still lands V for Vendetta feels uncomfortably current, building a strong dystopian atmosphere that stays tense and engaging. Natalie Portman delivers a powerful performance, and the supporting cast is excellent, including Stephen Rea, Stephen Fry, Roger Allam, and John Hurt. Hugo Weaving is the standout, creating a vivid character through voice and presence even with a mask that removes facial expression. The story is compelling and thematically sharp, though the "torture as redemption through love" element lands as emotionally and morally awkward. Still, the film remains a striking political thriller with real staying power.

Para além das atuações magnéticas e das ótimas cenas de ação, o filme tem pouco a oferecer. Acredito que vários aspetos do filme são pouco explorados (o partido governante sendo um deles, é apresentado como algo genérico e um pouco cliché). O filme trabalha pouco a sua história, algumaa partes do guião parecem apressadas e, por vezes, um pouco difíceis de acreditar. Além disso, não posso deixar de mencionar que nunca li a obra original, mas, mesmo assim, devo ter em conta que o seu autor, Alan Moore, não é um fã da adaptação (desta forma acredito que devo ler a obra, para ver se ela é mesmo melhor que o filme ou não). (avaliação: 5/10)

One of my favorite films, very interesting very enjoyable and well written. Its also did very well predicting the future of England. Spot on! No voice no freedom, curfew, lies on the news and an evil leader.
