The acting is solid and that shouldn't be surprising with a cast that includes Gene Hackman, Eli Wallach and Richard Widmark; the last of whom being particularly impressive. The locations and cinematography enhance the production and the action takes some twists and turns. In any case, I feel compelled to take away a star from my rating because Hackman's character makes some implausibly bone headed decisions. It was difficult for me to believe that his character would be so dense and naive.
