What to Know

Critics Consensus

Meryl Streep still wears Miranda Priestly like a finely-tailored suit in this sinfully enjoyable sequel, which is dressed to the nines in off-the-rack wish fulfillment and some trenchant observations about the state of modern media.

Audience Says

With its all-star cast dressed to the nines and an empowering story that fittingly expands the saga, The Devil Wears Prada 2 proves that a classic can be restyled with the right accessories -- and this one is a showstopper.

It’s hard to truly buy into the idea that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a genuinely bleak or melancholic vision of the end of an era when it (lip)glosses over every narrative or philosophical crisis as decorously as possible. Go to Full Review

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a chance to hang out with our old friends and see some great clothing—and little else. For some, that will be enough. Go to Full Review

There is a lot to appreciate here, especially in how closely it mirrors the current media landscape. But it never quite lands with the same precision or emotional sharpness as the original. Go to Full Review

Of all the folly that "The Devil Wears Prada 2" enlists, the most devastating is the unceremonious defanging of Miranda Priestly... Call the fashion police. Bring me my DVD player, and leave me to mean throes of nostalgia. Go to Full Review

it’s pleasingly catty, with Streep, Hathaway, and Emily Blunt crafting an affectionate retread that may have some misfires (Andy’s love interest may as well be a cardboard cutout), but does enough to satisfy the devoted fans of the original Go to Full Review

Michelle 36m Somewhat cute little one time watch, however, some things should just be left as is. The first movie was so iconic that this sequel just seemed extremely mediocre to say the least. The plot was such a forced storyline to bring us a sequel we didn't even need. The actors were overacting to be the iconic characters we loved from the first movie, yet even that fell short. Miranda was way too soft in this movie too that it ruined her whole bad b*tch image from the first one. And why is Nigel's whole existence Runway? is there anything more to his character? disappointed. See more Jabin R 2h It was a great sequel to a cult classic. See more Jamie 4h Kind of a repeat of the first one. I did enjoy the plot twist at the end with Nigel. The movie did focus on the real struggle of the inevitable decline of print media. Also, there was very little music throughout the movie, except for lady Gaga. The first movie had such a great soundtrack and this movie had 1 song. See more Susan 6h I loved it! I thought it was great that it had the same cast members and played on the same roles they had in first movie. Loved the "easter eggs" throughout the movie. I thought the twist at the end was awesome when Nigel told Andi that the articles didn't just pop into the son's phone by accident. For it to be a second movie, I truly loved it and can't wait to see it again! See more Mr Hollywood 10h Pointless. Another sequel that wasn’t needed. It adds nothing to what came before See more Marla L 12h For a true fan, i absolutely love it! Most of the characters from the first movie are here so it’s good to seeing them once again together.
