While it keeps the light, fairy-tale charm, the film feels noticeably flatter and less engaging in comparison, never quite reaching the same level of connection or impact. The biggest issue is the weak narrative development. The story moves through its plot points without much emotional weight, making key moments feel rushed or underdeveloped. Instead of a strong character journey, it often feels like it is simply checking boxes rather than building something meaningful. There are ideas that could have been expanded, especially around Mia’s responsibilities as a princess and her personal growth, but they are only lightly explored. The romance and conflict also feel somewhat underwhelming, lacking the depth needed to fully invest the audience.
