Ivan M. @imapug May 26 Cinema hits an all time low… excessive use of CGI, sets are beautiful and actors worthy of great scripts. Unfortunately… Miserable at best, so bad it’s good and puts it’s a new low for the actors… What were the producers thinking? It will be a masterpiece. But I understand why some people got all butthurt about the cast, the action, etc. When I want to see a movie I just put my brain on the whole suspension of disbelief, and merit the movie for the movie itself, no politics, no agenda, etc. The movie absolutely covers that. When people gripe that, oh, it's not mythologically accurate, how in the hell do we KNOW it isn't? Now, was a 5 star movie, by no means, in the fact that they leand heavilly into CGI, which is fair, considering what the aspects of the movie are, and some of the plot is of course silly. But what sells me is that they didn't make the 'gods' to be 'gods' but literally just bigger versions of people who have every day to day lives. Grief, loss, love, jealousy, etc, which by that merit is in the spirit of the mythology. So, take it with a grain of salt, and there are flaws, but I would not apologize to a single person about the cast or acting! The performances seem quite well done to me, especially that of Nicolaj Coster-Waldou and obviously that of Gerard Butler.
