After leaving behind her girlfriend to attend college in Chicago, young lesbian Max West (Guinevere Turner) is introduced to Ely (V.S. Brodie), a slightly older woman with quirky habits. While Max and Ely quickly develop an attraction to each other, a poorly timed phone call from Max's long-distance girlfriend, Kate, brings things to an abrupt halt. Meanwhile, Max's roommate, Kia (T. Wendy McMillan), helps her girlfriend, Evy (Migdalia Melendez), cope with some tough times at home.

I saw "Go Fish" in 1994 and loved the movie! I was a 49 year old lesbian and had rarely if ever seen any believable lesbian characters on the screen. These were! The soft porn babes (long hair, makeup, one turned away) in the posters displayed here have nothing to do with the real film. Please replace them with genuine stills.

when i first watched this film I was 17 and probably missed most of the story as I was just so thrilled to be in a room full of lesbians. It was the 90's there wasn't the internet or Ellen - it was a big deal for a 17 year old to be out with 'her sisters' Got to recently re-watch and review this film and was delighted again.. A lesbian film with a happy ending.. rare even now. while the production has dated, it's easily forgiven as we need to remember this was shot on pretty much no budget. The issues are still current. "how much time must pass after sleeping with a man until i reclaim my lesbian status." then and now, it was a movie made by lesbians for lesbians an it still hits the mark! loved returning to this classic.
