The life of white-collar New Yorker Peter (Nicolas Cage) seems to revolve solely around making as much money and sleeping with as many women as possible. After a typical night of scouring trendy bars for some action, Peter manages to take home the sexy Rachel (Jennifer Beals), who bites him on the neck while they're in bed. The next day, Peter is certain he is now a vampire. Though no one shares his point of view and he hasn't changed physically, he dons fake fangs and begins stalking women.

This is Cage’s origin, which is probably why it’s so outrageously funny and extremely painful to watch at the same time. This is an experience all Cage fans should partake in, as well as those who enjoy weird, lesser-seen gems from the period.

Vampire’s Kiss strongest feature is the insane performance given by Nic Cage. He creates such a believably crazy character that you can’t help but remember bumping into people just like him on public transportation and wondering, what is their life like.

One can’t help but be interested in Cage’s performance the same way one’s attention is drawn to a car accident on the freeway, but the movie would have been better served with a drastically different approach to the character.

I am a fan of satire, LOVE comedic horror, LOVE Nicholas Cage....but this was just awful. I wouldn't have finished it but I'm on a mission to watch all his movies and I can't count if if I don't watch it all. Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind that day (though I did try twice) but watching his completely irrational abuse of his secretary from the beginning and his continual spiral of abuse as his mental health deteriorated wasn't funny. It was disturbing and hard to watch. And the accent was AWFUL!!

Asides from Nicholas Cage’s dedication to delivering the most unhinged performance of his career, Vampire’s Kiss is inane and vacuous. There’s no real moral to the story, so it’s ultimately 2 hours of silly nonsense.

I think it’s an awesome movie. I’ll never forget the first time I watched it. It’s the kind of movie that sticks with you a long time after watching it. What a creepy crazy character Nick Cage plays! Very unforgettable.
