Noah H. @Noah85 1d Way better than I expected! Usually, I find Jennifer Lopez’s acting a bit hit-or-miss, but she genuinely surprised me in this movie. She delivered a strong performance, and you could really feel the emotional weight her character was carrying. Morgan Freeman is fantastic as always, bringing warmth and authenticity to every scene he’s in. Overall, the film tells a heartwarming story about the importance of family, forgiveness, and spending time with the people we love. The cinematography is beautiful as well. I loved the shots of the town and the surrounding forests, which gave the movie a peaceful, authentic atmosphere. And the cherry on top is the emotionally moving score. Deborah Lurie and Christopher Young did an excellent job. Overall, I can’t recommend this movie enough. 10/10. See more Kent Y @RT99556316 May 17 I thought it was a good movie. Acting was good. See more Matthew D @OceanSage Jan 18 Robert Redford and Jennifer Lopez are excellent in this underrated drama. Director Lasse Hallström’s drama An Unfinished Life (2005) is very sweet and moving. It’s very quiet, pretty, and thoughtful. I kept thinking that it is so similar to Secondhand Lions. Robert Redford is like the miserable Robert Duvall character, burdened by a loss in his past. Morgan Freeman is like the kind-hearted old man Michael Caine played. There’s even a little kid staying with the old men, who teaches them to live again. Both even have Josh Lucas in them! Robert Redford is excellent as the tough old rancher Einar Gilkyson. Becca Gardner is very sweet and touching as the granddaughter Griff Gilkyson. Jennifer Lopez is a strong single mother named Jean Gilkyson, who has been battered. Josh Lucas is very sweet as the small town Sheriff Crane Curtis, who falls for Lopez. Morgan Freeman is fantastic and natural as the old man Mitch Bradley, who was mauled by a bear. See more David S @RT19756663 Nov 23 Sometimes critics need to justify their own existence.
