Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished years earlier. Tomb Raider is a step in a the right direction for a genre desperately needing a turn-in critical performance. While nothing to boast about with 34 films in the genre thus far, the 50 percent rating on rotten tomatoes moves the needle up.

The real pleasure of this Tomb Raider is Alicia Vikander’s distinctively living embodiment of Lara Croft. Part athlete, part sleuth, this Lara is all sinew and soulful drive.

I'm not very familiar with the Tomb Raider franchise, but this is definitely a solid movie. It's not as sound as I was hoping it would be, but it was full of great fight scenes and plenty of action to keep anyone hooked. I definitely recommend it for action, adventure, and survival fans, and for fans of the Tomb Raider video games!

Better than the Angelina Jolie predecessor. I liked this take on Lara Croft as a more realistic version and more human feeling. Semi-entertaining but overall still just an average film due to a predictable plot and low emotional stakes.

I had never even heard of the video game. I’m not a video gamer, but I still really enjoyed this movie. Reminds me of Indiana Jones. A nice adventure

Good movie overall, I wanted to see more of the tomb throughout the movie. Mind you I’ve never played the game or seen the original movie but just from the title alone I was expecting more action/adventure in the tomb.
