Honor student Tracy Freeland (Evan Rachel Wood) has a troubling home life, but she is close to her mother, Melanie (Holly Hunter). While trying to conceal her inner turmoil by excelling academically, she befriends the calculating Evie (Nikki Reed), her school's queen bee. Evie talks Tracy into experimenting with drugs, exploring her sexuality and pickpocketing strangers to finance shopping sprees -- but before long, Melanie realizes she must step in and stop her daughter's destructive lifestyle.

This movie was very dark and realistic but very good, I think at one point in our lives we were all like Tracy at one point which makes this movie super relatable, I really love the dark tone and the appeal and the early 2000s aesthetic, it really made this movie

Really good! I’ve seen this movie more than once, only because it is one of my favorites!! Watching this movie at a younger age can change your perspective on life because of how the plot plays out. It is based on Nikki Reed (Evie Zamora) personal life and what she experienced while being 13 years old. It is sad and emotional but yet a good movie. I recommend watching this 100%. It’s definitely one of a kind.

I watched this at 13 & before I blame the movie, I know it was my fault but I was way too impressionable at that age to think for myself. I took all of their behaviors and made them my own - I literally wanted to be so much like them that I wound up in rehab, I developed an eating disorder & went to a mental institution for teenagers. I thought they were the coolest, I wanted to be like them, I was sold. If you’re 13 & reading this, please reconsider this movie, it really messed me up.
