Amelie K. @webjedi 2h The kind of show we need now to let us know we can still have fun, be nice to one another, and dive into a little harmless nostalgia. Watching this was like activating a sleeper cell of Gen-X memories, but with a higher budget to get them there. Enjoyed seeing the hand painted marquee and other visceral details in the set buildout. The character performers got pretty close to the originals (of course we are focused on Kermit), but the rest seemed spot on. Of course seeing Pops, Uncle Deadly, Beauregard, Lew Zeland, and Crazy Harry were a treat as well, even if they didn’t have lines. The new opening was a tear jerker, just to know The Muppets could be back if Disney puts faith into supporting them. Sometimes it felt a little like they were "mimicking" the chaotic energy of the original series, rather than an organic return to the show's off-beat sensibilities, but as a whole it was a fun watch and I hope they do more episodes, and get into the stride of continuing the Muppet Show, in their best format.
