It’s the sort of one-location, star-driven ensemble piece that could have merely been a theatrical exercise, and somehow manages to avoid being either stagy or stodgy. Nicholas E @RT21361244 May 2 Super funny, astounding direction and acting, a great use of Seth Rogen and Ed Norton, with a score that gives this a special kind of personality. Olivia Wilde loaded up the bases knocked this one out of the park. The cast is all around great, but she takes this thing up a notch. I love what she is doing behind and in front of the camera. Her acting choices are great, and the performance manages to feel both thoughtful and organic. I also love where she chooses to put the camera. Whether it be us at a distance from the characters, or right up in their space for comedic or dramatic purposes. It feels intentionally shot and made with care. I think this movie is a total win for Wilde and Co. and I’m glad I got to experience it in a theater. Her movie is thoughtful. It’s hilarious with mature sensibilities too. Probably the most I’ve consistently and hardily laughed in a while. It left me with a lot to chew on too. I love it for that. It’s a special one.
