The film won’t be remembered as a campus classic, or even in the upper half of college movies, but it’s also not hard to see a world where somebody watches it at exactly the right time in their lives and proceeds to cherish it forever. Go to Full Review

Questioning the moral fortitude of these comedies used to be something only critics did [...] Now 'Roommates' is getting in on the act and I respect the film’s sense of introspection. I just wish it had funnier jokes. Go to Full Review

[While the] framing device is purposefully heighted, Sandler and East are fantastic at bringing a level of emotional realism to Devon and Celeste’s complicated bond, which is two parts Girls, one part Single White Female. Go to Full Review

One of the twists in "Roommates" lies in a side love story that builds from the first episode and steals the show by the last episode. That’s the familial bond between brother and sister. Go to Full Review

James E. @JamesE167 3d This is quite fun, but it’s not outstanding. The story telling format is not new, but it is rare to see, so it’s refreshing in that regard. The end is unexpected, so it’s also somewhat refreshing in that regard. See more CJ G @CJGeoffroy 3d Let's get this out of the way first...Sadie Sandler is a phenomenal actor and it won't be long until she's getting roles that aren't attached to Adam's production company. She makes the best of every role, even when the movie isn't up to par. Roommates is one of those movies. A mess from the get go, I kept watching, thinking it would get better. It didn't. The movie follows college freshman, Devon (played by Sadie) as she navigates the uncharted college waters of having a roommate who may be a little off. In this case, a lot off. Chole East plays Devon's roommate, Celeste, and she is insufferable. I lived with rugby players in college so the tension, quirks, etc. in this movie are tame in comparison, yet they are real enough to make you uncomfortable. The ending is absolutely ludicrous. It's as if the writers had the end joke in mind, however, didn't care that they road to the punchline sucked. Anyway, this is definitely a movie you don't want to live with. See more Campbell P @RT64075373 3d I watched this movie two days after me and my roommates graduated college and it was so nostalgic. The parallels to freshman year of college are spot on and the writers hit the mark. I think the storyline and dialogue is very geared towards Gen Z and it was funny without being cringe. See more Cathy B @cathy210 May 5 The big blow out fight while the dorm was set on fire was great cinema. I found myself feeling sorry for the rich roommate. Imagine you're 19 and your old dad marries a woman 21? Like how does one even deal with that? I don't like that the girls ending is working as a employee at Staples, the very store her father is the CEO of. All her bad behavior and getting kicked out of school is a cry for help. See more Iam L @RT15965288 May 4 typical story, fighting with roomates, wearing clothes, stealing girlfriends, there is nothing new in the movie, a little boring because it was just another movies. no crazy great story, google says there are dark parts but that's just typical fighting with friends. so good to watch but i will no repeate again See more Thyaagu C @Thyaagu May 4 The plot wrote a check that the direction couldn’t cash. A perfect example of an "under-delivered" movie where the concept does all the work and the actual film does none of it. See more Read all reviews
