Follows the legendary vampire Lestat (Stuart Townsend), who has reinvented himself as a rock star in the contemporary American music scene. His music wakes Akasha (Aaliyah), the queen of all vampires, and inspires her desire to make Lestat her king. Akasha's malevolent power is so great that all the immortal vampires must stand against her if they want to survive. Meanwhile, a young London woman with a fascination for the dark side (Marguerite Moreau) falls in love with Lestat.

'Queen of the Damned' is considered a bad adaptation, over-the-top silly, and just a poorly structured film in general. All are true. However, many, myself included, see it more as a disasterpiece, a guilty pleasure, a piece of 2000s nu metal nostalgia.

Still worth a watch once or twice a year. It introduced me to the vampire chronicles which were amazing to read after. The soundtrack still makes for awesome gym music.

Without a main character (Aaliyah certainly deserved more to work with as its titular Queen), and without much happening narratively aside from basic female wish-fulfillment, Queen of the Damned is an MTV fever dream of a film, suffering from pulling its punches, extremely poor pacing, and painful cinematography.

Love Korn and the soundtrack. It's different from the books,yes but the story is still entertaining, cast is brilliant and the gothic atmosphere is absolutely there. Would've been even better if the movie was longer, still amazing tho
