Francis Ford Coppola gives this film a great amount of emotional depth in its characters, very skillful use of music, and simply stunning photography. Peggy Sue Got Married easily could've been just another film, but great writing and directing make this a very enjoyable watch. Turner was in semi-agony most of the time; fainted with the horror of being queen of the reunion. Oh please. Cage was one-note stupid; sounded like his tongue got in the way of the words he was trying to push out. He was touching now and again. The concept sounded good, if familiar, but it never got fleshed out properly. - Pace is - well - leisurely. Her grandad and his club were cool, when we saw them briefly at the end. It seems Coppola doesn’t do comedy well. Peggy Sue Got Married is a pastel, which is not his metier.
