Zach F. @kenpowerz Apr 10 Impeccably wise/funny one liners, plentiful plot armor, mediocre acting, impressive stunts, more unexplained plot armor, perfect pacing of introducing the antagonist, and beautiful scenery. All that I can ask from an 80s Dark Fantasy film, as Ergo says “Not impressive, but adequate”. The build up to The Beast is lovely accompanied by an interesting adventure. A improved final battle with the beast and going more in depth about the pit stops of the journey would have fixed a lot. In all reality it’s an incredible film if you aren’t pretentious and are fine with a half decent script and a 80s budget movie. It's long and boring, and I don't care if Liam Neeson is in it. This movie is iconic for one reason, and that's a glaive. So, if you can associate a glaive with this movie, then your cultured. You're good to go. But please, don't feel the urge to watch it. I wanted that time back. Side note, the title rhymes with the word "dull"-- with is also what it is. See more Hughe J @Hughe Oct 4 Krull was released in theatres in 1983 and is a science fiction / fantasy movie. It stars Ken Marshall in the title role as Prince Colwyn whose world is invaded by the Slayers, and they also kidnap his fiancé. To fight these monsters Colwyn does the old "putting the team back together" trope and scours the countryside for various members like a cyclops, wizard and so forth. He also has the Glaive which is this five bladed throwing weapon that honestly is pretty cool. The team eventually fight it's way to the Slayer's castle to confront the big bad, "The Beast". During the fight the Glaive gets stuck in the Beast so the couple gets married which gives them fire magic or something and they kill the baddie. Krull is the epitome of "it's so bad it's good". This movie was arguably awful but I've seen it a bunch of times and I still chuckle. The acting is subpar, the CGI for the time was ok, the set pieces were acceptable, but the plot was just not good. Still, for me at least, it's a dumb but fun movie and worth a watch.
