"The son gets the inheritance, the daughter gets cancer", lightly but straightforwardly expresses the deep-rooted imbalance in this seemingly unsolvable traditional concept. But there is no fairness in the world, and in the end, the family still relies on the inseparable love to find the forgotten true feelings and reach an understanding with each other. I recently lost my grandma to a complication,and since i was still attending my univ i was unable to meet her as usual as i did before and i regret not being able to meet her every fucking day because of my game addiction. Before she bit the dust i was still able to meet her in the hospital,she was getting a teensy bit better and became a lil bit happy and calm after hearing my voice. She held my hand like i used to held hers when she was healthy. I sat there for minutes and accompanied her trying to comfort her. But she told to come closer to her face to whisper "it hurts a lot" repeatedly and saying "wanting to go home" .......i couldn't do much but comfort her. Two days later she kicked the bucket,she stayed for as long as she can just so that i can meet her one last fucking time. This movie just captures how it feels to lose a loved one especially your closed family :(. I miss you Gran"/Nai"(chinese for grandma) pls be happy with "Granpa/Akhong" ILY.
