Hero at Large is a big, dumb, silly, good-hearted albatross of a comedy that may find an audience among John Ritter fans but did not find one with me. Go to Full Review

Erin M @Mightymotes 6d Excellent Drama about a demoralized city finding hope in a humble, kind and confident struggling actor. John Ritter is the lead actor with a great performance portrayal of vigilante justice giving hope to the downtrodden little guys in a big city. Along the way he courts and confides in a gorgeous woman living next door and gets caught up in corruption for political and professional gain…..It’s a less violent and less action packed version of Kick Ass. See more Scott M @RT75128960 Jan 9 One of my favorite movies. But this is NOT a comedy. Its really just a drama. Which is why it wasn't a hit. See more Anderson O @Platinum2027 Aug 30 Hero at Large is about the belief that all of us can be a hero to someone or another if we do until others as we would have them do unto you. If we make the self sacrifice action without expecting to receive anything in return. The genius though of a random act of kindness that can be transformative and make a difference in people’s lives. For one’s you don’t know and loved one’s you really care about. Some quipy humor but more dramatic in consequences of the great responsibility of being a hero and the price it comes with. See more CodyZamboni Z @CodyZamboni 12/06/2024 Movie is fun and good natured, Story of an actor creating media sensation as Captain Avenger, Film pushes all the right emotional buttons, Anchored by the very likeable John Ritter, Matched by the charming Anne Archer, Lots of on location scenes that evoke nostalgia for late 70s New York City. See more KEVIN C @RT21901671 02/14/2023 This movie has always had a special place in my heart. Loved seeing it in the theatres as a young kid and still holds up well today. John Ritter plays a struggling actor hired to dress up as Captain Avenger, a comic book hero, for the premiere of the movie. On his way home after the event he foils a robbery while in the garb and quickly becomes news. Ritter is perfect in this role, he's charming and funny and genuinely sweet. Anne Archer costars. This is a feel good movie that does it's job well. See more 09/16/2022 The original ‘Kick-Ass’ See more Read all reviews
