John Ritter is the lead actor with a great performance portrayal of vigilante justice giving hope to the downtrodden little guys in a big city. Along the way he courts and confides in a gorgeous woman living next door and gets caught up in corruption for political and professional gain…..It’s a less violent and less action packed version of Kick Ass. If we make the self sacrifice action without expecting to receive anything in return. The genius though of a random act of kindness that can be transformative and make a difference in people’s lives. For one’s you don’t know and loved one’s you really care about. Some quipy humor but more dramatic in consequences of the great responsibility of being a hero and the price it comes with. See more KEVIN C @RT21901671 02/14/2023 This movie has always had a special place in my heart. Loved seeing it in the theatres as a young kid and still holds up well today. John Ritter plays a struggling actor hired to dress up as Captain Avenger, a comic book hero, for the premiere of the movie. On his way home after the event he foils a robbery while in the garb and quickly becomes news. Ritter is perfect in this role, he's charming and funny and genuinely sweet. Anne Archer costars.
