"Hair High" from Bill Plympton was a very entertaining animated film for adults. It starts of as a very stylistic animated 1950s teen romance comedy but, since it is artist Bill Plympton, it quickly gets a bit weird. At some point this high school comedy goes a bit into the 1950s sci-fi / horror genre film territory. Even if you did not go to high school in the 1950s (I definitely did not), you will be able to relate to your own high school experiences. If you love 1950s genre films you will want to pick up and watch "Hair High."

Not okay. Not okay. I remember liking this guy's stuff when I was 13 years old. Apparently I grew up and he didn't. This movie is an animated wet dream/nightmare of any freshman in high school, and apparently was written by one as well. To think that this is the work of a grown man is staggering. The cast is full of great people, but the movie is more than a misfire. Perhaps I'll give Mr. Plympton one more shot before I write him off completely...
