The result is a first-rate B-picture, and a timely reminder of the delights of well-crafted popcorn thrills. Go to Full Review

Butler's best star vehicle in years, what could have been a bombastic bunch of boulders is, instead, a refreshingly clear-eyed and compelling affair. One of the best disaster movies in years. Go to Full Review

If it separates itself from more generic fare, it's because it focuses on a particular family and not on ten thousand different characters, and because it places great emphasis on the emotional tragedy they find themselves in. [Full review in Spanish]. Go to Full Review

This disaster film is contrived and nonsensical with very few redeeming features. Go to Full Review

Scott S. @RT42780270 14h It was ok, just another action film. But the effects are pretty good. See more Devin S. @Katosepe 2d Greenland stays street-level and is all the better for it. The acting is remarkably solid but Morena Baccarin's character (not her acting, but the character writing) is painful to watch consistently doing the wrong thing over and over and over while demanding everyone else fix the problem she put herself into. Her inability to grasp the situation she's in holds the movie back from being an immediate classic. Even still, it's very worth the watch. See more STEVE J @RT22053994 3d Gerard Butler inadvertently always plays the part of a weak bumbling indecisive fool, and he certainly doesn't disappoint in this movie. A so-called smart engineer with no brains nor common-sense: (1) Doesn't act when he first gets the alert, (2) As a senior civil engineer, he can't work out why he was selected, (3) He couldn't manage to pack one bag as per the strict alert instructions, (4) Runs outside into the chaos to get the insulin, (5) Demands to get off the plane and delays it and then stands at the open cargo door frozen in bewilderment, (6) Tells everyone to get off the plane when he has no authority whatsoever causing a panic, when his arrogant stupidity should have caused him to be handcuffed and muzzled, (7) Everywhere this prick goes he causes drama and chaos. His level of stupidity defies belief and should have barred him and his moronic family from getting on any plane!!! See more Keith B. @Okbullard 4d I'd seen this a few years ago but couldn't remember much so I watched it again and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I've always liked Gerard Butler and I really like Morena Baccarin from her Sheriff Country series. Give it a look I'm sure you'll enjoy it. See more L J @Cracky 4d A very intense thriller! See more P T @RT42531504 4d One bad decision after another...tbis movie was a slog to get through and honestly nobody was likeable. Also, what is the point of movies where there is basically zero stakes for the main characters at any point throughout the movie? They pretty much get their entire way with bending other people to their will, despite it being the literal end of the world and supposed chaos abound. See more Read all reviews
