Director Katherine Dieckmann keeps everything moving smoothly, and the appeal of Rudd in wisecracking mode can’t be underestimated. But if you’ve ever sat through an Ed Burns film, there’s nothing here you haven’t seen before.

“Diggers” won’t appeal to everyone. It came and went at the box office, yet has a dedicated cult following that grows in number with each passing year. It goes far in pointing out you only know what great friends you have when things are at their worst.

A very detailed portrait of a time and place that is about to change forever. This is a Long Island of 1976 in someone's memory, like a faded Polaroid in an old shoebox.

This movie was really great, very well acted. Paul Rudd, Ron Eldard, Josh Hamilton & especially Ken Marino, really shined in this film... so not used to Marino doing any other roles other than comedic... it was remarkably refreshing.

Great cast, backdrop and I suppose writing. But it just seemed like a steady stream of aimlessness and melancholy that permeated the 1970's and not exactly entertainment in my book.

Great setting and really solid acting. The type of comedy that focuses more on tone than actual laughter. They portrayed the 70’s rather well.

For those of us who grew up in the '70s, in simpler times, amongst the working class, this is beyond nostalgic. However, our speech was so much easier, slower, as our thoughts were so much more pensive.
