Deckard (Harrison Ford) is forced by the police Boss (M. Emmet Walsh) to continue his old job as Replicant Hunter. His assignment: eliminate four escaped Replicants from the colonies who have returned to Earth. Before starting the job, Deckard goes to the Tyrell Corporation, and he meets Rachel (Sean Young), a Replicant girl he falls in love with.

Ridley Scott ought to be a set decorator, rather than a director. In Blade Runner, he loses sight of the story while devoting all his attention to decor and lighting. The decor and lighting, it must be admitted, are stupendous.

This is really good. It was kinda slow to start, but it's so cool. My dad liked it for the old detective stuff, but he's old. I highly enjoyed the cyberpunk PKD stuff. Speaking of PKD, I'm reading the original book, witch Philip K Dick(PKD) wrote.

Blade Runner is a very slick , stylistic SciFi film. Director Ridley Scott knocks out of the park in this one. Harrison Ford as Blade Runner , Decker , is a fantastic portrayal. Rutger Hauer as a replicant Roy, is menacingly great. Great visuals. Good one.

As a concept that raises questions about identity, memory, transience and the death of the subject, the film tackles significant themes. However, it never manages to draw its audience into the major themes it attempts to allude to; instead, these serve as templates representing ideas. Alongside the bleak, gloomy, muddy and rainy city, which mirrors the depressing, apathetic and soulless everyday events, the characters are also so lifeless that the predicament faced by both humans – represented by Harrison Ford’s character – and the replicants seems trivial and insignificant. At the same time, there is not enough information to make one care about them, whilst Harrison Ford, through his indifferent, bored and detached performance, perfectly embodies the problems that run through the film.

One of my favorite film noir masterpieces, this classic science fiction movie gets better with every viewing. Harrison Ford gives another subtly commanding performance, Rutger Hauer gives us another outstanding villain and Daryl Hannah is very sexy. Ridley Scott and Jordan Cronenweth give us a breathtaking looking, film noir masterpiece.
