Yes, it's all very Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and all very 'filmi', haha, but who doesn't love the idea of long-separated loved ones being reunited? Treacle it may be, but the tears are real. And moving: my eyes were moist, even when I knew I was being played. Go to Full Review

Despite the solid base in remaking Ode to My Father, Bharat turns out to be a very middling experience, undercutting genuine emotion and tension with cheap humour and overdrawn sequences. Go to Full Review

The film still entertains while telling an emotional story and features some surprisingly good performances. See more 05/21/2021 acting is superb and story line is unique See more 02/19/2021 I am not sure why this movie is getting such bad reviews. I watched it with a few friends and it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It takes you on a journey with a man who lives through tragedy, change and enlightenment. It is a very deep movie, with many themes and tones that high school students will write about in 20 years, replacing William Shakespeare literature. This is an Oscar-worthy performance from the lead actor, Salman Khan, who plays a version of himself in an alternate reality. As the name of the movie suggests, Salman is the embodiment of India or Bharat, and his actions represent the soul of the country. If you do not much about Indian history and want an accurate depiction of culture, you can skip all history books and watch this movie. It will make you cry, laugh and feel confused where we least expect it. 5 stars for this masterpiece and an extra star for Salman. See more Read all reviews
