Todor Y @Phantom961 2d Nothing to do with the original version of the film. The acting is under all criticism and terribly fake. The film is shot somehow in a rushed manner which makes it even more boring. Unlike the original version, this film is shot with a much more modern camera which gives a feeling of a cleaner and more shiny image of the picture but takes away its realism. I liked the overall vibe and atmosphere, it definitely tries to create tension and chaos, but everything else fell flat. The acting was terrible, the characters felt unrealistic, and the whole idea of locking down one building while police and firefighters are trapped inside without any information just didn’t make sense. It’s hard to stay invested when the story logic is so weak. The ending wasn’t satisfying either, and while I understand this is a remake of another film, I still expected much more. Jennifer Carpenter begins as a confident survivor type, and the film's early pacing effectively captures a sense of spiraling panic. But as the story progresses, it becomes clear that Quarantine is more style than substance. The film largely abandons character development in favor of repetitive jump scares, and its shaky cam approach often obscures rather than enhances the action. As a near shot-for-shot remake of Spain’s REC, it struggles to justify its existence—offering little new for horror fans beyond louder screams and more blood. See more Read all reviews
