Aitana Sánchez-Gijón

Best known to American audiences for her role opposite Keanu Reeves in the 1995 romantic drama "A Walk in the Clouds," Aitana Sanchez-Gijon is a well-known Spanish-Italian actress who has appeared in over 50 films and TV programs. She first appeared on-screen in the 1986 Spanish melodrama "Romanza final," and soon landed roles in such films as "Jarrapellejos" and "The Sea and the Weather." Sanchez-Gijon, who is the goddaughter of actor Rafael Alberti, worked steadily throughout the 1990s and landed a breakout role opposite Keanu Reeves as a pregnant and abandoned woman in "A Walk in the Clouds." She later appeared as a mysteriously beautiful woman in the romantic drama "The Chambermaid on the Titanic," and as a woman on the run from her drug dealer boyfriend in "Leaving no Trace." In 2003 she landed a major role in the adaptation of the Italian novel "I'm Not Scared," as a woman caught in horrifying web of kidnapping and deceit. She has since appeared as a sympathetic waitress in the psychological drama "The Machinist" and as a manipulative femme fatale in the nautical drama
